2008 Tournament Highlights

The 13th annual "Chip-In" for Quality Schools Golf Tournament was held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at Lakeview Golf Club. A beautiful spring day, good food, and lots of prizes helped make for another successful fundraising event. This year REFI had a total of 45 corporate sponsors, each donating a minimum of $1200. In addition, there were numerous major and hole sponsors that contributed to the $66,000 raised. During the tournament another $6,000 was raised through the sale of greenies, mulligans, and raffle tickets for a new set of King Cobra irons. The Foundation thanks all of the participants, sponsors, and volunteers for making this the most successful tournament to date.

Dick Harper presents a Jefferson Cup to Brett Mowbray, whose team won the first flight with a score of 55 and the Alumni Cup (team with all four players graduating from same high school).
Robbie Failes tees off on the par 4th fourth hole. His team, consisting of his father, uncle, and cousin, won the second flight with a score of 61.
There were 180 golfers who enjoyed a bright, sunny, and warm day.
Following the round of golf, participants enjoyed a catered lunch and an awards program.
There were approximately thirty volunteers who helped with registration, selling greenies, coordinating the auction, and selling raffle tickets. Pictured are volunteers Janet Wendelken, Janice Harper, and Lena Osborne.
