Innovative Idea Grants

One of the ways REFI chooses to enhance education is through its REFI’s Innovative Idea Grant Award Program. It is designed to support and encourage teachers in the Rockingham County Schools to enhance their curriculum and teaching strategies through their “innovative ideas.”

The IIG Award Program is open to all employees of the Rockingham County Public Schools. Individuals and teams (representing a school, a group of schools, an academic discipline, and the central office) are encouraged to apply. Individuals and teams may submit proposals which will be judged on a competitive basis. Teams are given priority.

The main emphasis of the Foundation is support for students and teachers in the schools. In 1995, the Foundation created the Innovative Idea Grant Program to support activities in the classroom. Our teachers must have the resources and opportunities available to them so that they can develop their professional skills and better meet the needs of students - helping students to grasp theories and concepts in unique ways.
